Did you know? 3 Fires holds annual kids parties during the year. A scary Halloween party and a fun Xmas party complete with a visit from Santa! For the adults we hold an annual Pot Luck luncheon the morning following the Kids Xmas Party. Also an Extravaganza each fall to celebrate the new 1st Degree Black Belt/Sash people.
Did You Know? That the average time for an adult (male or female) to reach a 1st degree black level in martial arts is 3 years, assuming regular attendance. The key quality is perseverance. For youth, developing this quality will help them in life so it is important that parents insist their children stay with whatever they start.
Did you know? 3 Fires Martial Arts Academy is one of the few studios in Northern Ontario that teaches Five Ancestor Fist (a.ka. 5 Animal Fists) kung fu. This training includes extensive weapon-work as well as Lion and Dragon dances.

Did you know? Our logo with the 3 fire balls represent the three core martial arts we teach - Karate, Kung Fu and Tai Chi. The balls are circling indicating the influences on how each of our martial arts affect each other. Additionally, the logo is a nod to our Anishnawbe territory which is part of the 3 Fires Confederation comprised of the Ojibwe, Potawatomi and Odawa first nations. The 4 colors on the logo represent the 4 directions - North (white), West (black), South (red), and East (yellow). These colors are the core of the indigenous teachings.
Did you know? Each of our core martial arts styles (Yang Tai Chi, 5 Ancestor Fist Kung Fu, Shotokan Karate) were established over a hundred years ago. However, our martial arts are still evolving as research in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and psychology gives us new insights in how we can improve our art.
